Edge Browser Gains Edge over Apple’s Safari

For a long time, there used to be a running joke that Microsoft’s Internet Explorer’s primary function was to download Chrome, Firefox, or any other browser. Microsoft, on the other hand, has nearly completely faded out of Internet Explorer in favor of the Edge browser. Edge has changed a lot in terms of capability in a short period of time. It is currently the second used most desktop browser.

Microsoft Edge is presently being used by more people than Apple’s Safari browser, according to a report by 9to5Mac, which cites information from Statcounter. Edge has approximately 10.1 % of the desktop browser share of the market in March 2022. Safari, on the other side, has a share of 9.61 %. According to StatCounter, Google Chrome is still the biggest player with a 66.64 percent market share.

To put it differently, Windows-based PCs have a much bigger user base than Apple’s Mac products. Edge, like Safari on Mac devices, comes with a pre on all Windows PCs. However, it seems that Mac clients enjoy alternative browsers to Safari. Moreover, it is surprising because Apple has indeed been selling more Macs in recent quarters. During Apple’s quarterly revenue call, the company reported that Mac income grew about 15% in the quarter, bringing the total number to nearly $10.4 billion.

As per a new report by Counterpoint Research, Apple used to have a strong previous quarter in terms of Mac sales. In comparison to the past quarter, Mac sales have increased by 8%, whereas Other Windows Computer manufacturers saw their overall market share fall. As per Counterpoint Research, Lenovo saw a 10% dip in shipment, while HP had a 16 percent drop. As a result, it seems that customers are purchasing more Macs than before, yet their favorite browser is not Safari.
